Treknow Stores is the old village shop converted into a house and studio. Sunny and spacious, there is room for all kinds of activity. Interiors are minimal contemporary style with some nice ‘classic modern’ furniture. There’s a large studio on ground floor where the shop used to be and a living/dining/kitchen on the first floor. Two double bedrooms (one with bathroom attached) and one twin, plus sofa-bed and futons in the studio mean that capacity is 9 under pressure. We prefer to say ‘sleeps 6’ because that’s comfortable and within the ability of modest though efficient kitchen – and the two showers, one bath and two toilets.

The house has central heating, woodburner, washing machine and tumble dryer in separate utility space (which is very useful for surf and walking kit), CD/tape hi-fi, TV, DVD player.

It’s a great place to relax or work in. Situated in the centre of a tiny village, the North Cornwall path is 5 minutes walk from the house to the stunning cliff-tops and down the hill to Trebarwith Strand, a beautiful tidal beach – great for surfing and rock pool explorations. Lovely cliff walks looking due West across the sea. Tintagel and onto Boscastle going North , Port Isaac in the other direction. Sunsets are as good as you’ll get in England.

We don’t mind pets but there’s no garden so take the dog down to the beach – which has been voted dog-friendly because high tide washes the beautiful sand spotlessly clean twice a day.
